Molly Burns

As a member of the Academic Leadership Academy at Chapin High School, community service is a big part of the program and becoming a strong leader.  I have been involved in many community service events inculding Lake Murray Elementary School's Fall Festival, Chapin Softball Summer Camp, and Mount Olive Lutheran Pre School Child Care.

 

Lake Murray Elementary School's Fall Festival is an annual event with games, food, and fun for elementary aged kids.  As I attended this event as a volunteer, I helped work some of the games and helped families find their way around.

 

Chapin Softball's summer camp was my personal favorite volunteer opportunity.  For one week out of the summer, I coached young girls on all aspects of the game.  It was an enjoyable experience and also a great way to help the community.

 

Mount Olive Lutheran Pre School's child care was another good opportunity for me to work with young kids.  It was as easy as to play with them, feed them, and keep them occupied for a couple hours so that their parents could participate in an annual auction.
